Doing a brake job on my Z and the previous owner has aluminum spacers installed.

The old guy whos garage im using made it seem like they are dangerous and deadly, Unless they are required for the rims to fit properly, but im certain these are stock rims. which im sure could be dangerous if the spacers are damaged or improperly installed, but whats the consensus?

Im planning to daily it, but i like to have fun sometimes too. And im interested in doing a track day soon also, so would it be bad to keep them on afterwards or should i just sell em on fb?
