Finally pulled the trigger on the Alpha 2s. After hearing so much about the 250-hour battery life and the refined dual-chamber drivers, I couldn't resist.
Currently sitting through the initial NGENUITY firmware updates (v3.1.2.9 for the headset and v6.1.2.9 for the dongle). For anyone else getting these, make sure to stay plugged in via USB during the update, especially since mine came out of the box with low battery!
A few questions for the veterans here:
- Any EQ tips? I've heard the out-of-the-box tuning is solid, but does anyone have a "God tier" profile for footsteps in FPS games?
- Cloud Alpha 2 vs. Cloud III S: I was torn between these and the Cloud III S Wireless. I went Alpha for that insane battery and the dual-chamber bass, but has anyone tried both? Do you prefer the newer III S profile or stick with the Alphas for the punchier sound?
The simultaneous Bluetooth + 2.4GHz is already a game changer for me. Can't wait to actually put some hours on these.
