Rahul Mamkootathil: What is wrong with Malayali men?
We have to talk about this. A significant number of Congress party workers and Malayali people, especially men believe that Rahul Mankootathil is some kind of scapegoat and the party/VD was too harsh on him. They laud Rahul and slut shame women who raised accusations against him. It's clear as day that he was abusive in his relationships, betrayed trust and behaved like a predator. Congress ducked their way out of a much bigger storm by removing him themselves without protecting him once the accusations came to light. It's also true that these accusations were in the air for several months before the news broke and the party definitely knew.
And Rahul hasn't been the least bit apologetic about the whole thing. Nor did he show the humility to stay low. Instead he doubled down on his arrogance.
Afaik, I don't think there's enough in this for him to end up in jail. But he should definitely own up his wrongs and reform himself as a person over years if he ever wants to return to a public life again.
