Has anyone here ever been denied taking the IELTS (or a similar exam) because they brought a different ID than the one used for registration? I know it’s on their terms but NO REFUND OR RESCHEDULING?? Are you okay guys?

I’m honestly beyond frustrated. I showed up with a valid ID, I can prove my identity, but because it wasn’t the exact same document used when booking, they didn’t let me take the test. And on top of that: no refund, no reschedule, nothing.

And before anyone jumps in with “well you should have read the terms”, I honestly couldn’t give a fuck about that take. This is objectively unfair. It’s basically a ripoff targeting students who already don’t have much money to begin with, and I’m not changing my mind on that. We are talking about 300 bucks, not 30…

Yes, the mistake was mine, obviously. But it’s a simple oversight — something that can happen to anyone. The consequence is completely disproportionate. Not to mention that their no refund/rescheduling policy is so hidden.

I also had to commute one hour to get to the closest test center, which makes this even more frustrating and unfair.

If this has happened to anyone else, please share your experience. Were you able to do anything about it? Get a reschedule, refund, anything at all?
