What are my options?

I currently use a Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, and honestly, this phone has aged ridiculously well. It’s now almost 6 years old, and until recently I never really felt the need to upgrade. Performance has been solid, camera still holds up, the S-Pen is useful, and overall it’s been one of the best phones I’ve owned.

The only real downside for me has always been the size. I have smaller hands, and this thing can be an absolute handful sometimes. Great media device, not always great for one-handed use.

Now the issue is starting to become app support. Some work-related apps are either no longer supported properly or are beginning to show compatibility issues, so I’m finally being pushed toward upgrading whether I want to or not.

What’s making this harder is the rumor around the Samsung S27 lineup — specifically that Samsung might introduce a “Pro” model that basically brings Ultra-level features into a smaller form factor. If true, that sounds exactly like the phone I’ve wanted for years.

But waiting until the S27 release cycle also feels like a long time when my current phone is already starting to show software compatibility limitations.

Curious what others would do in this situation:

Upgrade now?

Hold out another year?

Move away from Samsung entirely?

Go smaller and sacrifice some features?

For context, I’m someone who keeps phones for 4–6 years easily, so long-term experience matters more to me than chasing yearly upgrades.
