Right off the bat, I (and a couple others) had reservations about this dude. Resume was fine, he was just a bit…off. Everything was a quick “yeah bro, ok” bro this, bro that, bro this that, bro. A couple of us could tell he wasn’t really interested in working full time and it was just show up, hop in the truck, deliver, and bounce. Normally our drivers are full time and after the route they work in the warehouse and hang out with all of us….
About three days in he calls one of us in the morning and says his dad died… We’re all suspicious of course but, if it’s a lie, that’s a doozy to start with.. figured you’d go with a dog or some other minor emergency before resorting to a parents’ death.. - His age aligned, so we all just went along with it while unofficially taking note.
Same day, late afternoon, he texts saying he’ll be in tomorrow… We call to compassionately see how things are going and to preemptively say he doesn’t need to come in…. “Dad’s not dead, he’s in the ICU.”
Fast forward to the final day.. Someone tells me “isn’t it a little weird he hasn’t mentioned a single word about his fathers’ condition?” ..
Mind you, between hiring and firing he showed absolutely no wish to get a full 40 hours in, very distant in terms of learning anything about the business (to make things easier for himself), etc.
We get a call from one of our nicest, kindest, customers who no one else has EVER had an issue with…. He got upset and left with half of their order still on our truck, fully aware - it wasn’t a mistake.
So I pulled out the dash cam footage… Holy shit.
This dude was some coked up rager. He’s telling his girl to crush the coke rocks for their trip this weekend because half gram baggies are easier to hide, yelling at other people to not disrespect this trip his very healthy dad has set up for the two of them to fish and camp and hang. Cursing out friends saying he has a gambling addiction (he mentioned that in the hiring process as why he wants to get a job - phrased better, but to essentially to distract him from it). Flips out at another one and is screaming that he is not a gambling addict. Other footage shows him jumping out of truck in a parking lot to physically assault someone because he honked at them and they flipped him off.. which leads me to the footage of him honking at every homeless person, cackling about it, telling the other piece of shit on the phone about it, bragging about being flipped off by numerous people in the previous days. There’s SOO much more and this list is long enough.
Just absolute madness and a total piece of shit on the road. Yet, he was fine at the warehouse, albeit, an obvious weird loser, but we had no idea how coked up and out of control this dude was.
Be wary of anyone with a souped up Infiniti.🚩🚩🚩
