Does anyone else have questions about the Memorial Drive shooting?

From the videos, the shooter looked like he may not have known how to operate the gun well, which made me wonder about how he got access to it in the first place.

I also hope this incident doesn’t completely derail discussion around the upcoming policy item on ShotSpotter.

Has there been any reporting on where the gun came from or how he obtained it?
