My ex and I broke up about a year and seven months ago. We were together for many years, so it's been hard to move on. We had a lot of mutual friends, and some of them are very close friends of mine. My closest friend asked me to go with him to a birthday party for a friend of his who, coincidentally, is also a very good friend of my ex and his new girlfriend, so it's obvious they'll be there. I haven't told my friend yet whether or not to go. (Besides, I don't want to tell my friend that my ex will be there; I don't want to, and telling him isn't an option.). So what should I do? Go? Maybe I'll feel worse if I go. I don't know. I wish I didn't feel anything, but I feel anxious just thinking about it.
