Help me pls. Its my first time using jacquard technique and i'm trying to make a scarf, but i feel like white shows a little bit too much under black.

I've tried to tighten it more but then it looks too tight. And in every tutorial I've watched they don't seem to have this problem. Is this because of the size of yarn/hook? Or if I'm using black and white my scarf will look like this no matter what?
