Advanced haematology vs basic haematology and transfusion of Masters of laboratory Medicine

I'm enrolled in Masters of Laboratory Medicine at RMIT. I want to do my specilisation in Haematology. But I don't have any practical knowledge about doing blood pictures or reading blood / cancer cells. Will it be okay to do Avanced haematology without that practical knowledge? I think with AMIS accreditation I can't do both basic Haematology and Advanced Haematology. Because then I won;t be able to cover immunology or genetics which is required for AMIS accreditation. But then again I'm already a member of AIMS. So I don't need the Masters to get AIMS. This is so confusing for me. Does anyone know what would be the practical aspect of these 2 subjects?
