Help connecting outdoor cameras to Homebase 3
Hey all,
I bought a Homebase 3 along with E340 Floodlight camera and x2 C31 outdoor wired cameras and I need some guidance on connectivity. The C31's seem to connect to the homebase via usb/usb-c but there is no option to add those devices on the app. I think I am going to return these because I do not want to drill holes to route these wires and have them exposed where the homebase is set up. It looks like I should've went wireless. I have not received the E340 floodlight yet but I was wondering how it connects to the Homebase. Does it require a cable connected directly to the Homebase like the C31 or does it connect via wifi? The floodlight is roughly 60ft from the Homebase; will this be an issue if it does connect without a physical cable? I know it is powered by the existing floodlight electrical. Does the camera still work when the light is switched off or does the floodlight switch need to stay on?
What I want is a floodlight camera to replace one of my floodlights (wired to a switch) that connects to the homebase without routing a cable. I bought the wired C31 cameras because I thought I could put the homebase in my attic and simply wire everything up there but now I know the Homebase has to be connected to the router which is in a place where the wires would have to come through the ceiling and down the wall (which I don't want to look at). If I get solar (wireless) cameras, will they also connect to the homebase via physical cable? I bought the homebase because I didn't want to run out of storage and I went wired cameras so I didn't have to worry about dead batteries or the solar panel getting enough sun.
I would appreciate some confirmation on connectivity or any guidance on a setup that aligns with my wants. Thanks in advance.
