I have the Eufy E21, and I used to have it plugged to Wi/Fi until last night. I was sleeping when I suddenly heard A MAN’S VOICE very clear, saying a bunch of words and going “Yeah!” at the end, THROUGH my Eufy camera. Baby’s face was turned away, but when he heard the voice he turned to the camera to reach for it as he usually does when someone talks to him. I immediately got up since camera and baby are right beside my bed, and I let my husband know before shutting it off and having to do a wi-fi and password change. Still freaked out, not sure what the hell it was but there are no signs of anyone logging into our account. I didnt have an SD card when it happened so I don’t have a way to replay the incident, but are these cameras easy to hack???

How did this happen? If anyone has had something similar happen please let me know!

I mentioned in a previous post that the most requested domain lookup on my network is security-app-eu.eufylife.com - with 4,000-6,000 lookups every 24 hours!

I blocked these domains (and all subdomains under them) on my home network:

eufylife.com

anker-in.com

eufy.com

Since blocking those, the cameras connect first time - every time. Compared to before, where it was pretty much 50/50 if the camera would connect or timeout.

I blocked these domains using using AdGuard - but you might be able to do it within your router.

Side effects:

1. the app/cameras aren't able to check for firmware updates anymore - so I'd have to unblock them every now and then to check for updates.

2. accessing the cameras outside of the house isn't possible, unless you can VPN into your home network.

3. I'm guessing cloud backup might not work anymore - if you're paying for this.

In an ideal world, when you're on your home network, eufy would just connect directly to the HB/Cams instead of always trying to go through the internet first. Then we wouldn't have to block any domains and deal with the side effects.

These are notorious for training ai and profiting off of people’s likeness in general. I dont care about the cameras. I care that me & my daughter are risking being part of an ai database for a company IM not paying to do so bc i would never consent to the ai features, video donation program, being in someone else’s cloud when these cameras werent here when i moved in, or improving user experience whereas she definitely does want the ai features. There is a serious language barrier and I don’t even know what language she speaks, but all i care about is explaining that the ai features and audio recordings need to be turned off so I have to figure out explaining this to her while also abiding by her rights as a landlord. I JUST moved into this house so not trying to ruin that at all. But she just put up cameras today. I know landlords can have cameras but does anyone have info on the optics of requesting the ai features being turned off. It feels like my house just got flocked. 🙃 i really dont mind the cameras themselves it’s the ai that bothers me

Still not working

Hello everyone,

On the day of the update, our doorbell rang by itself. After checking the cameras, no one rang.

We took the opportunity to recharge it, and before putting it back, out of curiosity, I tried pressing it, but it no longer rang on the Homebase.

The camera works on the app, but not the doorbell. Even trying to reset the ringtone on the Homebase in the app didn't work.

So I had the idea to remove it from the app and add it again, but now I can't add it.

At the step where you have to press the Sync button on the back, there should normally be one beep, but it doesn't do anything. I tried pressing and holding Sync to reset it, but still nothing happens.

Is it broken? It worked perfectly before this update 🫤

I bought one and its wifi is faulty. eufy told me it's also been discontinued and to get a replacement or refund.

I heard that the eufy Pet app is no longer supported, and to use the Anker eufy app. Does it still function the same? Has this camera held up for others?

My other option is a Furbo, but I am turned off by the subscription model.
