I have a 16V 10VA transformer for the chime, but it seems that replacing it with a more powerful transformer may not necessarily work. Can anyone share your experience on this please?

Hi. I've noticed that the fan noise on my (approx) 18 month old Eufy hub has started to become noticeable - not horrible (yet) but definitely getting louder. Is this a common issue, and is this an easy replacement?

I have a EufyCam S340 outdoor camera installed at my front door and my HomeBase 3 is located in the garage.

Should I connect the camera via Wi-Fi Multi-Bridge or directly to the HomeBase 3? Which option provides the more stable connection? What are the pros and cons of each setup?

When I try to load up live view on the E340 floodlight cameras, they do not livestream anything to me. The kb/s is under 10. But my WiFi is normally quite good with other devices. When the cameras are fine, I get about 300-400kb/s when live streaming. I feel like this issue only occurs where there is a lot of activity/people that the camera is watching and tracking. Does anyone know what the best solution is? Mesh WiFi?

I stay in hotels and Airbnb almost non-stop. I’m looking for something that has local and cloud storage. Easy setup. Cameras with battery options or plug.

Which Eufy would be best?

Hey guys I’m looking into getting a couple of basic home security cameras mostly for my front door and backyard and I’m trying to decide between Eufy, ring and nest.I don’t need anything too advanced, i just want decent video quality, reliable motion alerts and something that doesn’t feel useless. I have done some research and Eufy looks interesting because I keep seeing people mention the local storage side of it. I also checked their site and saw I could get 20% off through Checkmate which makes it a bit more tempting but I need some recommendations before i buy it For people who have used any of these long term, which one has been the most reliable and are there any issues with it?

I know this has been asked before but all the posts are old so I wanted to see what options there are now. I have multiple wifi cameras connected to my s380 HomeBase. I want to monitor all the cameras at once from my office. Is this possible? I know the eufy webportal doesn't do this. And I know they released the E10 display, so I can get that if I have to. But I hope there's a better way. Thank you!

Dear all, I’m looking for a wireless security system cover about 1000 sq meters / 11000 sq feet. I’m going to need 4 or 5 cams and I am torn between Eufy and Arlo. I want the best build quality and user experience. Recurring costs are somewhat annoying but no dealbreaker. Does anyone have experience with both? I don’t have a fixed budget. I do have a synology NAS available if I were to consider something else entirely.

Nice to have but not required:
-,Option to hook up to a permanent power source or swappable batteries. Hybrid POE support would be nice but I don’t think it exists.
- Smart tracking across cameras
- easily movable cameras (not pointable, actual relocation)

Are there other brands worth looking into?

I wanted to let everyone know that you CAN duplicate keys for Eufy Smart Locks. I recently purchased one of their palm vein reading locks and when I was reading reviews before purchasing I saw multiple comments saying you cannot copy keys for Eufy Smart Locks. I even saw a video from LockPickingLawyer saying the Eufy locks at the time used non-standard keys which looked like standard key types but actually had differences.

Anyways... I took the keys I got with my Eufy Smart Lock and went to a Home Depot to use one of their automated Key Duplicating Kiosks. The machine scanned the key... and cut a couple new keys for me... no problem. Got home and tried them in the lock and they worked fine. So just wanted to let you know that you CAN copy keys for these locks beause there are many comments online saying you cannot.

Spec is now open. It’s publicly available where previously it was available to developers.

H.265 / HEVC is now Mandatory / Bitrates are higher (based on HEVC)

Optional highest tier for cameras that can support a 4k and 2k steam concurrently (it will would fall back to 2k instead of 1080p)

It’s not fully based on the matter 1.5.1 specification but does pull from it including the use of Web RTC (no pan and tilt controls) and cameras can advertise multiple lenses which means manufacturers are going have to support this new HomeKit spec as well as Matter instead of just Matter :(

New recording pipeline (should help with missed events)

Existing spec will remain active so no change for current HKSV cameras.

This means manufacturers will have to update existing cameras to meet this spec which seems unlikely unless it’s easy as they’ll want to push new hardware. It would be great to see 2k or 4k cameras updated if possible, but older cheap stuff won’t have HEVC support so who knows.

Has anyone else with the S340 had trouble with the included 10 foot USB C extension cord?

I have two S340s one where I did not need the extension cable and one where I do need to use the extension cable to mount the solar panel in a good spot.

The s340 where I don't need to use the extension cable works perfectly, whereas the s340 where I do need to use the extension cord does not. There's no issue with the solar panel, when I plug the panel directly into the camera it charges fine, but I can't get the extension cable to work. I have tried both extension cables from either camera and have had success with neither.

It seems unlikely that I would have received two defective cables so I suspect this is my own user error (or at least I'm hoping so).

Has anyone used their 10 foot extension cable to connect the solar panel to their s340 and not had issues? If so was there anything special you did to connect the cable?

Again I've tried with two different cables now and neither seem to work even though the solar panel works fine and charges the camera fine when plugged in directly. I have pushed quite hard on either end of the 10 foot extension and it seems solid yet there's no charging.

Hoping someone has some suggestions.

So I set the activity zone for my yard and maybe 1ft outside the yard on the walk way. If the camera starts recording in the activity zone, it will follow the person outside the activity zone quite far. How do I get it to stop the recording outside the activity zone.

Camera is a Solo S3

Hi everyone,

I just bought two brand new Eufy battery-powered cameras and noticed something strange. I’m using an older version of the Eufy desktop app where “Max Capacity” is still visible. This does not show in the latest Eufy app on my iPhone.

One camera shows 98% max capacity, and the other shows 92%, even though both are brand new. The 92% one is fully charged to 100%, but the max capacity still says 92%.

Is this normal for new Eufy battery cameras? Are these numbers reliable, or could the old desktop app be reading/calculating it incorrectly? There is currently a temporary discount/campaign on these cameras, so I’m wondering if this could be old stock being cleared out.

Would you exchange the 92% unit, or just keep it and use it? It feels a bit low for a brand new camera, but maybe it calibrates after a few charge cycles. What do you think?

*I exchanged the first two cameras today, then bought two new ones from another store. Both of those also show 92% max capacity.

So now I’m wondering if the value is inaccurate, or if these cameras have also been sitting in storage for a long time. It seems unlikely that four brand new units would all have degraded batteries, especially when two of them show exactly 92%.

Hi guys! Just picked up the E340 and it only records for 2 days and then rights over the first day footage on the third day… how do I avoid that and get it to record continuously 24/7 or at least more then 2 days worth? Also if I toggle on pre recording to get longer footage it Messes with my doorbell chime and does not ring inside anymore but the doorbell will still play a chime outside… how do I fix these issues? Thanks!
