Another Customized Mermaid Barbie!🧜🏾‍♀️

Shortly after I finished my first mermaid repaint, I stumbled across another budget Dreamtopia mermaid Barbie (HGR06) and... I could not help myself 😊 This one originally had pink and purple tail and bra - I decided to repaint her in warm shades of gold and red gold, and made her some beaded jewellery and matching tiara with beads and tiny shells. I also repainted slightly her lips because the original pink shade seemed a bit too bright (my first attempt at doll lips repaint - not perfect, I guess, but after several tries, this is the best I could do).

I also upgraded the green Tori's tiara, adding some more beads and shells to it.

Next stop: HGR05 mermaid repaint! She already met the girls 🩷

Customized Budget Mermaid Barbie

Some time ago, I bought HGR07 mermaid Barbie with blue tail - on a whim, kind of, because I really liked her face and green eyes.

I have never tried my hand at customizing a doll before, but I decided to try and give this girl some repaint since that pink and blue plastic tail looked incredibly flat. I used acrylic paints and some wax paste, and then I coated painted parts in clear satin varnish. I also made her some jewellery - I'll probably add something more later, perhaps tulle sleeves? But for now, she looks like this.

So sad that these mermaids do not have much articulation 🥲

Hi, I recently bought my first mermaid Barbie (budget Dreamtopia mermaid HGR07 with blue tail - her face is so lovely!) and now I'm trying my hand at customizing her a bit. I'd like to display her later, but I wonder now, do typical doll stands work for mermaid Barbies? Or should I look for some specific type of a doll stand?
