Oh happy, happy day! I'm a huge Teutonophile and have been pining for a German-speaking Talking Barbie for ages. An eBay seller has been selling off a slew of gift sets, and this doll was in the 'Pink Premiere' lot (the seller is not a collector), so I jumped on it.
I could tell that the box had been opened, and she may well have been removed, so I was nervous in case she'd been switched out at some point and would end up being just a regular US-release.
I got her today, and I didn't have to wait to repair her to talk, as somebody else had already done that, and she is the correct doll for the box. The repair job isn't the best, so I may switch out the torso at some point, but she speaks German loud and clear. I'll need to spend some time catching what she says, but I speak some German myself, so hopefully that won't be too hard.
Little Daniel is over the moon to have this wonderful new dolly to add to his collection
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I unboxed her, put her back in the box for safekeeping temporarily, took her out of the box again last week, nothing wrong. Now I took her out again and suddenly her hand falls off. I have never had this happen before. Does anyone have any experience with this?
Luckily I have some good PVC glue on hand (pun intended). But I'm just afraid it'll happen to my other dolls too.
Head - Pazette from YouCreate Basics Kit 2 - 2026; Body and clothing: Mattel 80th anniversary Brooklyn.
Pazette is one of my favourite sculpts of all time (tied with Lara).
This iteration of her sculpt and her screening elevate an otherwise boring 80th anniversary doll.
She‘s giving Hollywood red carpet.
There are not many sculpts that do glamour and elegance quite like Pazette. She‘s stunning and I love her.
From a day ago, a very good interview segment
and it was breaking my brain! I had to turn her into Britney. I bought a vintage Britney doll and stripped her for clothes and accessories, then braided Stevie’s hair and added outfit and accessories. The itch in my brain has been scratched! I think she turned out so cute! Am I alone in thinking the Stevie doll looks like Britney?!?
So I recently purchased this 2011 SDCC Exclusive Green Lantern Carol Ferris movie doll in the likeness of Blake Lively with the hopes of making a custom doll of her character Serena van der Woodson in Gossip Girl to add to my collection, but I need help finding a good look-a-like doll for her character’s frenemy Blair Waldorf played by Leighton Meester. If I could get my hands on a brunette Argigi or Brigigi I would use one of them to portray her because they kind of resemble her to me, but they’re so hard to get when in stock plus a little pricey imo. Does anyone have any options for me? Sorry if I’m breaking any guidelines mentioning another doll line other than Barbie by Mattel.
She’s Midnight Moon Princess Barbie from 2000. I can’t believe I have her now… I just love how she looks!
I recently acquired this Fuchsia ‘N Fur Francie silkstone from 2012/2013. The label on the box says there’s no more than 4,000 worldwide, I normally unbox my lovelies but I have this one and my Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly still in box. Should I let her out of her cardboard tomb and let her breathe or preserve her for years to come?
Anyone else find childhood photos and realize you've always been a barbie lover? It heals something so deep in me to see these photos and know that I've protected that whimsy💕💕
Does anyone know what we're getting for the release this Friday May 22nd?
I love how the Besties fit regular Barbie clothing (except shoes, darn it). And Brooklyn looks so cute in pretty much everything…😊
This is a combined PSA/ request for tips. I like putting hose (stockings) on my fashion dolls because it gives the outfit a finished look. AliExpress and Amazon sell inexpensive alternatives to buying hard to find and/or expensive Mattel or name-brand hose.
I mistakenly thought I’d solved the issue of the dye transferring and staining the dolls’ legs by washing the hose first in hot water and adding a cold rinse with white vinegar. I’d checked some dolls I’d dressed with these a while later, and it seemed like there were no problems.
Checked more recently, and, nope, I’ve screwed up, as you can see in the pics. The stained set includes two bodies from Barbie Basics You Create 😫 Two might get better with a hydrogen peroxide, saran wrap, and heat pad treatment, but the Xian Xian Princess body (one the far left, hard vinyl like the You Create ones) is toast.
Wanted to warn folks—and also ask if anyone has a workaround? I’m guessing saran wrap covering areas of contact?
(For those interested, the blue haired head on the far right is a mermaid Odile-type from AliExpress, which some clone fans think is a playline Defa Lucy. The blue wig on the middle Audrey You Create Barbie is from a vintage ‘80s wig set I got in eBay.)
These are two grail dolls of mine. Barbie Silkstones are so pretty and I can’t wait to add them to my shelf.
