What Modern Family episode morals didn’t sit right with you?
I’m curious: were there any episodes where the typical "moral lesson ending" didn’t work for you? I'll provide some examples of my own to make it clear what I'm asking.
- The chess episode with Gloria/Jay/Manny, where the ending frames Gloria throwing the game as being a “better wife,” even though Jay’s behavior is the bigger issue.
- Dede's christmas slipper gifts to Claire being some act of love, ignoring what a terrible mother she is.
- The infamous 3x2, Phil pushing Claire into a pile of cans, lying about it, turning her kids against her and then the narrative blaming her when she was proven right.
Honorable mention: I love Jay, but I do get annoyed with how he sometimes can get away with being a jerk for 90% of an episode, but then he does one good deed at the end and everyone's happy and he's forgiven instantly.
Anyone else have examples like that? That's not wedge salad (I feel like we all agree that was messed up).
