Pata Hai aaj kya hua saw a video of Vikas Divyakirti about Tulsidas and Kalidas and usme he mentioned about Mohan Rakesh's novel Aashaadh ka ek din and I can't stop thinking about Kalidas's love. Basically Kalidas used to live in a village and loved a girl, Mallika. He was very happy with the life he lived. He was summoned by king to become court poet and leaves his house with a heavy heart for king's court.
He goes there and eventually, he was offered to marry king's daughter and along with that, kingdom of Kashmir. He goes there, starts missing her love, Mallika. One day, he flees his kingdom and goes to back to find his lover, only to find her married. He had everything at a time and now he lost everything.
Aren't we all Kalidas? We adjust and keep moving forward in life for material stuffs. Is it even worth it to be part of this rat race.....aren't we all losing our Mallika's (whatever and whoever) for some material stuffs?
