Hi there,

Earlier I did my weekly shop at my local Sainsbury’s supermarket. The staff warned me that their payment system was down for contactless, which was ok as I had my physical card.

Once I got to the payment section, I popped in my card, popped the pin in, and it was accepted on the terminal, however the self checkout screen buffered for longer than usual.

After about 10 seconds it went back to the regular Home Screen and printed my reciept, but no money has been taken from my bank account. It’s normally instant. Has this happened to anyone before? Is it likely Sainsbury’s will attempt to take the money at a later date? It’s been about 9 hours and nothing has happened.
