E. coli for 9 months and now enteroccous species.
34F. had my first uti in august 2025, 1 month after giving birth. and have been having E. coli UTI about every month since. Was on antibiotics each time. had 2 kidney infections Oct and Dec and learned to catch symptoms early. Each diagnose followed a round of antibiotics. The had a 2 month break from December to February. and had UTI symptoms and antibiotics rounds again in March, then April And Feb. Culture indicating e coli again each time
urologist put me on low dose keflex for 3 months starting this week. took a urine culture before starting low dose keflex, now to see no ecoli present but now showing “20000 CFU/ml enteroccous species“ 😔 id this level mean I now have an infection with this new bacteria? I’m seeing it’s resistant to keflex too
Feeling defeated. not sure what to do now.
