If you switched from patch to gel or gel to patch which did you prefer?

I've started getting a rash where I put my patch. I'm thinking of asking my doctor for the gel although I really do like the ease of the once a week with the patch. I know there are other patches but with the supply issues I don't know how easy it would be to switch to another patch. If you've tried both which do you prefer and why?

I see many posts (not necessarily here) where women get so upset because they were a few months shy of a year without a period and then got their period so now they need to start the countdown to menopause again. I've had an IUD for years and therefore don't get my period so I have no clue if I've hit menopause and honestly I don't care. Even my doctor said, "oh I thought maybe you were post-menopausal" when I asked her for a replacement IUD when mine was getting old and I started spotting. I'm just curious why it matters so much to some women. Is it just not wanting to have to deal with your period anymore?
