how many of you have a change of clothes at work?

i dont by any means have a full change of clothes at work, i tend to not mind being in wet clothes like many people do, and my office/desk job is attached to a weld shop, so 'dirty' clothes really arent a concern either.

i wear jeans, a tee, and a flannel to work - again im a cad guy at a weld shop, i dont need to wear anything nicer than this...

BUT i do have a FR (flame retardant) shirt on my shelf for the occasion my boss and i head out to do a field inspection or data gathering trip (theyre required at many of the places we do work for, and it looks a tad more professional than a work shirt and a flannel). ive only ever needed to change shirts during the course of a work day like twice in the 3 yrs ive worked where i work now.

how many of you keep clothes, even just a shirt, at work as an 'oh shite, i need a new shirt'?

a fair bit of the discourse surrounding becoming a priest seems to revolve around the 'oH bUt YoU cAn'T hAvE sEx' point, which sure that is a big deal, but how big of a deciding factor was it for you when you discerned to become a priest?

i know a few guys that discerned into seminary (on has since discerned out) and for them the no sex aspect was more of a side effect of what their calling was, and i think thats awesome, to be completely celibate to bring the sacraments to others, but im curious where that rank for you guys

this was initially sparked by the line "Oh Jesus, grant me the knowledge and love of my nothingness" but there are a good fair few other lines that are somewhat of a 'stumbling block' for one, such as myself, who struggle with feeling good about myself and that i am not, in fact, worth any thing to anyone.

lines like:
"From the desire of being loved"
"From the desire of being approved"
"From the fear of being forgotten"
"That others may be loved more than I"
and so on

i have, for some time now, taken it upon myself to say this litany before confession to remind myself of my lowly sinful self before entering confession (or after if the line is short and i dont have time after my examine).

is this something i should avoid doing?

Good morning gents!

Hey so I got this book a little bit ago, started it, got a fair bit of the way through it, then life happened and I ended up putting it down for a while. I just picked it back up and started rereading. It is a GREAT book, it’s called The Catholic Gentleman; the chapters are short, real, practical AND spiritual. I am not an affiliate, just a Catholic guy trying to do better who desires other Catholic guys to be the best they can be so we can all support and encourage each other and admonish when appropriate and necessary.

When I picked this book up this time, I thought “hot dang, I gotta share this book with my buddies!” so I googled it, and lo and behold, it’s like a whole thing now (as opposed to when I initially got the book), podcast, blog, shop, the whole nine. I’m still fresh in that community, so I don’t know much about it, but I suspect it’s a good thing and that they’ve got a good thing going so I thought I’d spread the word a bit!

Again, I'm not an affiliate, I just think good stuff (as this seems to be) should be spread!
