I’m a Canadian citizen, but I’ve lived in the US for my adult life, so I don’t have a Canadian credit score. However, I’m moving to Montreal this summer and was trying to rent apartments. I applied for this one that is in a good location for me and they sent me this message.
I imagine this is their way of extorting a 2 months rent upon signing the lease from me without breaking the law since they saw an opportunity. I honestly don’t mind agreeing to it, just want to make sure these guys are legit and whatever lease I sign will be real.
