Something weird is happening at work - advice please?
I’m a FTC employee and have had conversations with my boss about making my job permanent and taking on additional responsibility. But it feels like something is going on at work and it’s making me nervous.
I can see most of our floor (where the senior team members sit) from my desk and there have been a lot of serious faced closed door conversations and meetings between senior management which is very unusual. I’m fairly senior but not in the SLT.
Recently my boss has been postponing my regular 1-2-1s and she’s acting strangely towards me, more detached or something, when we’re usually quite friendly. I asked her if there’s a problem and she wouldn’t answer me directly, just made an excuse about being busy.
The SLT seem stressed most of the time and Head of HR is flitting between offices for closed door conversations which isn’t common.
We don’t have regular updates or meetings but I overheard a team-wide meeting will be happening on Tuesday.
I’ve been made redundant in the past and I’m on a contact so can just be let go without issue. I’m not in a great financial situation right now so I’ve been applying to loads of other jobs coz I have such a bad feeling.
Am I doing the right thing? Anyone got any advice?
