Mu’awiyyah ibn Haydah reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Woe to one who tells lies to make people laugh. Woe to him! Woe to him!"

—Sunan Abu Dawud 4990

I wonder wether this Hadith applies to making up stories and lying while other people think it’s the truth or sarcasm as well.

I am very sarcastic but it‘s clear I am not being serious or I actually mean the opposite and I make sure not to mock anyone.

Does anyone know the ruling?
