Moving with bedbugs
Hello! I’ll keep this short since it might just be me worrying too much.
My old apartment had a bedbug infestation that started from furniture someone brought in six months ago. We’ve had exterminators come by two times since then, and my room has been sprayed twice by them. I’m currently moving out of this apartment, and would like to know if there’s anything else I can be doing to avoid bringing them to my new place.
I’ve washed and dried all of my soft items/clothes/blankets on medium heat In an industrial dryer for at least 40 mins, as some of the items cannot handle hot. All of my packed moving boxes have been either packed the day of me bringing them outside the apartment, or sealed with plastic moving wrap right after packing if left in my apartment for more than a day. I’ve also steam cleaned my metal items to the best of my ability, and the bottom of my suitcase which I’m planning to seal and pour boiling water on once in my new apartment. I am also throwing out my mattress and bedframe, aswell as my carpet, cat tree, and any scratching boards/carpeted items I had in the old apartment.
