I hate the blind box aspect, especially with how bare bones the dolls are. 40 bucks a doll is asking for a pretty penny compared to how little other companies ask for their blind box dolls with full concepts.

Instead of building off the collector bodies they kinda downgraded into a more made to move body, but with IT swapable legs. Personally jointed ankles would have been better because they add a bit to poses imo.

These are great dolls but I kinda don't want the blind box aspect to continue or I'll have to ignore future releases.

This release update is kinda terrible, next thing you know there's an asian exclusive of this one.

I needed some more alt dolls in my collection. My only critique is that they are kinda copying themselves. I've said that the lunar 2.0 dolls and the paris model 5 and 6 are quite similar in design even so far as having the same earrings.

These dolls are the same black vs red theme with the faces of paris model 5 and 6. I think they could have pushed this a little further maybe streaks of the opposite color in their hair. Maybe even the nails of the one with the red jacket being red instead of the same black.

I could go further with black and white being a theme when they release 2 dolls as well. Maybe a bit more variety, otherwise I'd rather they just release more single dolls and maybe up the edition sizes.

I'm excited but i really just want to see them push the limit a little bit more.

The first thing that i noticed was that the box is pretty heavy. A sign that this was a truly decked out doll.

When you open the box you are greeted by the second outfit. It consists of what I would describe as a crimson red dress and bustle. They're separate pieces with snap attachments. Very beautiful but the snaps will be very present on the back if you don't like the bustle. It's also lined with what i would say is a sheer tricot fabric for structure. They are attached the the bock with string which leaves a slight hole, but not too noticeable. Included is a metal hanger which just feels so deluxe.

Once you pull that out, you find the doll. When i tell you that it's a face that could launch 1000 ships i mean it. Just a very beautiful doll. This is the first new sculpt released, the DF04. She has brown gradient brows, a neutral toned smokey eye with gray irises, bold red lips with slight painted teeth for a pouty look, topped off with a beauty mark on the right rosy cheek. Her long black tresses are styled up into a ponytail wrapped in a braid at the base.

She comes in red lacy lingerie that's fortified by a tulle layer underneath. A nice matching detail on both outfits is the ribbon arm strings with gold plastic buckles. Both come with zipper closures as well.

Her accessories are gold earrings, a gold bracelet, easy to slip on dark red shoe leggings, a heart locket purse with gold chain,four sets of the standard defalucy hands. (2 skin tone/2 red) and a saddle stand.

Personal thoughts:

this is a great doll and I'm so happy to have survived the bloodbath to get her. The snaps are slightly disappointing if you want to do her without the bustle but i like her with it. The dress could be a bit more cinched but they still gave her shape.

Overall I'm a bit confused on if the lunar series is just RED or more asian inspired like the first doll. This doll and Paris Series 5/6 have similar outfit styles down to the legging shoes. I was a bit sad to miss out on one of those but i did notice that.
