Understanding the basics of BA

I'm a week into my new position as a BA, I've been learning a lot and trying to put a bit of the pieces together in my role.

I'm assuming it kinda goes along the lines of:

-customer ask for something

-BA communicates with stakeholder/customer for more information etc.

-BA turns the request into a user story or epic? (still learning what that is)

-BA defines the requirements and the ATC for the request and deploys it to the team to be implemented, tested and reviewed

-delivery?

I know im missing pieces still, only a week in but I really want to do well here and develop my career better here too.

Laid off: 90k Remote vs 100k in person

I was part of some lays off a few weeks ago and was making 115k, was an increase from a previous 99k salary.

I have an offer for a 90k and feeling an offer for an 100k that could Be coming

90k remote BA/Scrum Master job- have 3 days to decide
Pro: Interested in the field + clear career progression, remote, will pay for certifications etc.

Cons: feels like a steep drop from 115k

100k Record Manager Onsite
Pros: 20 mins each way, could be more relaxed/un stressful, can pay for certifications + good mobility within company, can assist with transitions to other fields

Con: not remote (not necessarily a big deal), not work in my direct field

Thanks for any insight!

VA Beach safety precautions?

Visiting for a few days with the GF, are there any safety precautions to take, especially at night? We just want to have a good weekend down there at the beach and see the boardwalk etc
