So I’ve been working at Marshalls for about a year now, and I’ve always been a reliable employee. I show up for my shifts, stay late when needed, work other departments if necessary and overall try to help out whenever I can.

The past couple weeks have just been rough honestly. A few unexpected things came up that caused me to call out last minute(minimum calling two hours in advance) , and on top of that they’ve been scheduling me on weekends even though some of my managers know I babysit those days. Because of that, I had to call out a couple shifts in advance too.

Today I called out again and was told I’m going to be “spoken to” next shift because I’ve been calling out a lot lately. Now I’m stressed wondering if I’m getting fired.

Recently I’ve been babysitting on the weekend, making extra money because I can’t always depend on getting hours

Now I’m starting to get my hours back! But on the weekends, when this family needs me. Is it possible to change my availability? I was open availability when I got hired last summer but my circumstances have changed

Or are weekends mandatory and I have to roll with the punches? Lose the babysitting gig?
