Told myself that this is a perfectly acceptable pick up while I wait for the resting sticks from yesterdays post in my humidor to be ready

Managed to get my hands on a CRA sampler from 2022. Gonna be hard to find the patience to let them rest until they’re ready for smoking

-Warped Isla del Cocodrilo (did have some interesting final third notes, not a bad cigar just really fell short of a lot of the hype surrounding it as well as notable draw and burn issues)

H Upmann The Banker Arbitrage:

Curiosity has had me wanting to try one of these new world H Upmann blends just to see how they match up to the Cuban H Upmanns

The Banker line seems to be quite the love it or hate it type of smoke when looking at online reviews so I was skeptical, but this stick was a pleasant surprise

While it’s a very consistent flavor profile from start to finish of cream and light nutty notes with the occasional grassy hits; it was an absolute pleasure to just sit, smoke and enjoy next to a rum old fashioned

I don’t know if I would recommend it due to it being a stick you would have to order internationally and therefore run the risk of the tax man, but if your interest in trying the H Upmann’s from
Altadis USA outweighs your sense of financial risk then absolutely give this one a shot

The day was made even better by 5 x10 of these Oliva V senoritas making it through without a ransom letter so I’ll have plenty of short smokes for when I’m time sensitive or just don’t want to commit to a full stick. Unfortunately it looks like a second order of sticks has been caught by Brisbanes new AI sorting system but fingers crossed for a favorable assessment 😅

Recent smokes whilst being on the backend of a bit of a flu

Oliva Serie V Lancero:

Probably my favorite size of the Serie V blend.
Note a smoke that strays much from the very clear dark chocolate and leather flavors but every once in a while the retrohale would throw some nutty notes (think rich pistachio or almond vibes)
Burn was impeccable without any touching up required. Just a nice, hands off and watch the world go by smoke

Sombressa Brûlée Blue:

This was my third time smoking this cigar and for some reason it just felt bland compared to the previous times. I’ll chalk it up to palate fatigue but the one thing you can’t escape is the unreal sweetness from it.
Settles in nicely and flows between grassy, hay type notes towards slight peppery hits. Retrohales towards the last 3rd threw in some new, almost dark caramel flavors (the type of notes that carry some slight acrid bite to them)

Now I loved this cigar the first 2 times I’ve smoked it so by no means will this 3rd time turn me off them at all

It may not be the most popular of the Sobremesa line; it sure was a nice little stick

Big hits of cedar/oak flavors with the occasional leather and toasted nut flavor (specifically like eating a Brazil nut with a hard to define “funkiness” to it)

My second one of these and it’s just further reinforced my excitement to keep exploring the whole DTT portfolio

First time trying the Sonata after having a few of the Nicaragua Quattro’s; cannot recommend these enough for those of us that are medium - full inclined.

Notes of dark chocolate and spice with a nice leather flavor towards the 2nd half.

I feel like Aging Room often gets forgotten about but every offering I’ve had from them has been wonderful

The fact that this order from SP took an additional 2 weeks from the order being placed to even be sent out in the post ain’t even an issue if it means dodging the ransom letter
