Is this a screen protector installed by Hyundai during Manufacture or ...?
There is a piece of plastic that is installed on the Ioniq 9's large display that looks like its a screen protector. I am not sure if it is removable (was it supposed to taken off by dealership?) -or- it is supposed to be there (part of the display). It does not have any remove tabs.
I am looking to put on an anti-glare screen to my display because I am tired of looking an my reflection in the display. It is difficult to see the turn signal image, etc. due to the reflection.
I purchased an anti-glare screen protector from Photodon [Hyundai Ioniq 9 2026 12.3-inch Infotainment / Instrument Display Screen Protector (SKU: 4152-01-MXT)(Film Type: MXT - Anti-Glare 50%)] and it seems to be larger than the plastic film that is there already.
Has anyone had success in finding an anti-glare screen that actually fits and works? It seems that the film needs to be curved to fit the shape of the screen. When you dry fit the Screen Protector from Photodon, it doesn't follow the shape of the display.
What is this film on the display? has anyone here remove it? Is it not supposed to be touched? Is it the protective film that is supposed to be removed by the dealer?
Lastly, and I am not really expecting an answer.... Why would Hyundai make the display that you need to operate the car so reflective that it becomes an distraction?
due to the screen's curvature, the Photodon screen doesn't fit
