Bee hive problem

I'm trying to tame a few queen bees to start honey production, but I genuinely can't get any queen bees or any bees out of their hives

Here are some infos about the situation

  1. The hives appear to be dead, damaging it with or without bug repellent doesn't spawn any bees

  2. Collecting honey by hand without bug repellent still inflict damage

  3. Multiple bee hives can stack on one another, and there are up to 3 visible hives on most trees in red wood (they are all "dead" hives) as shown in the photo

Is there something to do with dino wipes? I've been doing a few to fix the spawning issues of dinos

At which level do wild carchas become worth taming?

I'm not familiar with the strength of Gigas and carchas or whatever after taming so im confused; what is a level 92 carcha equivalent to after taming?
