Night wakes continuing during Ferber
Our boy is 5 months and 1 week and we are currently on night 9 of Ferber. He moved into his cot in his own room when we started ST.
WW: 2/2.5/2.5/3 - Naps: 3hrs total
Bedtime: 8-8:30pm depending on last nap
Wake time is 7am.
Bedtime routine: feed, bath (every other night due to dry skin), lotion, pjs, book, bed
In terms of falling asleep, we could not be happier! It takes him a few minutes and minimal grumbles and he’s out, with no check ins needed since about night 4.
Here’s where the problem lies, his first stretch is 3 hours and that’s the longest one we get all night. After that he’s awake every 1-2 hours still. He gets 2 feeds per night (EBF), the first being 4 hours after his last feed and the next being 3 hours after that.
He goes back into his cot awake, albeit, a bit drowsy after the feeds and puts himself back to sleep. All other wakes, I’ll let him put himself back to sleep, which normally involves 10-20 mins of crying. We have had one morning since we started where he woke naturally at 7:30 and was all smiles, every other day is constant tears from about 5am.
I’m at a bit of a loss, so any tips or trick would be so appreciated!
