I’ve been inquiring into orthodoxy for a while now and I have become stuck on matters of doctrine in both catholic and orthodox denominations which I’m required to believe.
I find arguments regarding papal supremacy, the Filioque, essence energy distinction and most other issues between the denominations quite convincing on both sides leaving me torn.
I’ve been consistently visiting my local orthodox and catholic parishes and even did the Discover orthodoxy course at the recommendation of the deacon at the orthodox parish and having completed that I still feel so unsure.
It matters to me because I seek to know Christ and his church truly and fully but I find myself hesitant to commit to one or the other. I can’t help but feel half of these things just can’t matter that much.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
