In this chapter we get the confirmation that yes, gilbert is physically superior to edward but his immaturity makes him weaker overall, that's why we later get gilbert saying "edward would have never messed it up like this".
And no, the first pic doesn't mean edward is stronger than kuroki in my opinion, kuroki and shen were holding back in their fight so it's not fair to compare them, maybe we can say they are equal.
