Out Of My (Mathematical) Depth
Hi all,
I'm doing a postgrad stats paper this semester (723 - stochastic processes) and, as the title says, I feel way out of my depth.
It's the most 'pure math' course I've ever taken, and I'm honestly battling as I don't think I've got the necessary probability theory perquisites for it. I'm decent at statistical theory, but the proofs and concepts in this course feel even gnarilier than the 300/700-level mathematical stats course.
Obviously a tad too late to back pedal now (cursing my week 2 self for sticking with this course) but I'm trying to make the best of a bad situation.
Rant aside, does anyone have any tips for or experience with getting through technical courses when you're seriously out of your depth?
Thanks!
