Oppo Reno 14 pro selfie video framerate drop issue

I'm new to reddit so sorry if this is the wrong place to post this!..
I just got my Reno 14 pro yesterday and right off the bat I noticed that the front camera is having a major issue where the video frame rate almost always never stays consistent but drops significantly. For example, if I set it to 4k 60fps, the frame rate of the final video comes out at 31, 42, 52, and very rarely 60. I can visibly see the frame rate drop the moment I tap shoot, and then I confirmed my suspicion by checking the 'info' button in the gallery.
Check out some of the screenshots. Even if I set it to 4k 30fps, the frame rate drops to 25fps.
I got this phone primarily for the front facing autofocus camera for shooting 60 seconds 4k shorts at 60fps but this issues has me handicapped! The rear cameras are fine, and the issue only seems to be with the front camera. I haven't found any option to force or lock the frame rate in 60fps.
I'm on the latest version of ColorOS and Camera app.
So anyone else facing this issue? Is there any work around for this?
