I completed the Great Manchester Run today (half) marathon, and was really disappointed with the atmosphere. For such a huge event I expected the crowds to be really good but they were sparse on the course for the most part (not their fault on the motorway sections I will admit) and then generally quite quiet towards the finish.

For those who have done it before, is it usually like this? My only Manchester comparison is the Marathon which is worlds apart. I don't know if we just got unlucky this year or if this is usual.
