Lost my collectors edition because Best Buy cancelled it
Everything seemed fine until two days ago, when they attempted to charge my card. My card happened to be turned off, so the payment didn’t go through.
I then received a 47-hour notice saying I needed to fix the payment issue or my order would be canceled. I fixed the payment within 10 minutes and got confirmation that everything was good. My order even showed an estimated shipping date of October 6th.
Then, shortly afterward, I was told my order had been canceled because it was flagged as suspicious.
Now the Collector’s Edition is sold out, meaning I can’t simply place another order and get the copy I originally paid for.
I understand security systems can flag orders, but how does it make sense to give me 47 hours to fix a payment issue, let me successfully fix it within 10 minutes, show my order as shipping October 6th, and then cancel the order anyway?
I preordered this over a month ago and did everything I was asked to do. Now I’m potentially losing my Collector’s Edition because of an issue on their end, and there isn’t even an opportunity to reorder it because it’s sold out.
Has anyone else had this happen? Is there anything I can do to get the original preorder reinstated or have them honor it somehow?
