Why is it wrong when I changed it to “teacher”?

I grow up in a Cantonese-speaking family, and in Cantonese, watermelon is “西瓜” (sai gwaa). And in Korean, apple is “사과” (sa gwa).

I mix them up all the time 😭 Every time I see ““사과” (sa gwa). I need to stop for a second and think about are we’re talking about apples or watermelons…
