Do Slack alerts actually work for urgent sales follow-up?

Curious how teams use Slack for urgent sales or customer follow-up.

If a high-priority lead or customer request needs a fast response, do Slack alerts actually get handled, or do they get ignored like email notifications?

Do teams use channels, DMs, threads, reminders, manager escalation, or workflow bots for this?

What happens when an inbound lead misses SLA?

For sales ops teams with inbound leads, what actually happens when a rep does not follow up within the SLA?

Does the lead get escalated, reassigned, flagged in Slack, added to a manager queue, or does it mostly show up later in reporting?

Also curious what SLA window people use for demo/contact-sales leads.

Is there a reliable way to catch unassigned or untouched leads in a CRM?

Wondering how people handle this across different CRMs.

A new inbound lead gets created, but no one follows up because it was unassigned, assigned to the wrong person, or buried in tasks.

Do you rely on CRM workflows and reports, or do you have another system checking for untouched leads?

I’m especially interested in how teams catch this in real time instead of discovering it days later.
