TL;DR: After looking into Amazfit's third-party data provider (igolf.com), it’s clear the missing Golf Mode features on the Balance 2 aren’t iGolf’s fault. iGolf’s platform supports far more capability than Amazfit currently exposes or pays for.

Before we ask for advanced features, Amazfit needs to fix the core usability issues that disrupt actual rounds. Even with strong underlying tech, the current software is holding the hardware back.

Phase 1: The Broken Basics (Fix these now) Regardless of future upgrades, these consistency issues need immediate attention:

·       Erratic dynamic GPS tracking: If a shot lands on an adjacent hole, the watch stops calculating your actual distance to the green and defaults back to the hole’s static tee-box yardages (e.g., showing 400+ yards instead of your real 75-yard approach distance).

·       Inconsistent swing detection.

·       Clunky score entry.

·       Occasional distance inaccuracies.

·       Inconsistent mapping across different courses.

·       Slow golf-specific software updates.

Phase 2: The Untapped Potential (What's already possible). Users want a smarter golf ecosystem, and the good news is that Amazfit doesn't have to build it from scratch. iGolf already provides the underlying data (elevation, hazards, green slopes, shot logging, etc.). Amazfit just needs to build the UI layer or upgrade its service tier to access iGolf's data.

Based on what iGolf already handles, Amazfit could realistically push software updates for:

·       "Plays Like" Distances: Using iGolf's existing terrain and elevation data.

·       Green Contours/Heat Maps: Pulling from iGolf's slope data.

·       Smarter Hazard Targeting: A better UI to map out layups and carries.

·       GPS Shot History & Post-Round Summaries: Visualizing logged shot locations after the round.

·       Streamlined Scorekeeping: Fixing the flow of the current clunky UI.

·       Custom Golf Data Screens.

Bottom Line: The hardware and the iGolf backend are fully capable. Amazfit just needs to treat golf the way they treat running—delivering consistent software updates that fix current bugs while steadily unlocking new features
