birthright
born with a golden spoon,
to the ones worthy of swoon.
but it was a daughter,
no matter of happiness and laughter.

cause she was no heir,
this kingdom was not her share.
but reserved for an unborn issue,
feet too small for this huge shoe.

it was the matter of his birthright,
solution to all our plight.
what he wants doesn't matter,
let all his dreams shatter.

for he is the son,
meant to shine better than the sun.
yet the daughter who's a fighter,
forced to be a bride shining brighter.

dreams lie broken, aspirations shatter,
what one wants no more matters.
as all is decided- not by mirth,
by the gender of your birth.

dreams and birthright collide,
at each step my heart died.
