How do you feel about bots copy/pasting from LLMs to distort our perception of public opinion on LLMs?

Cus I think it’s pretty shit!

The real question I wanna ask:

Can I just post a list of all the obvious bots on this sub? So many of the top 1% commenters are suspiciously incapable of writing a coherent response. You can (almost) literally hear the numbers crunching as they make some wildly irrelevant comment in response to a couple of key words.

When someone asked Truman Capote about Jack Kerouac’s prose, he said “that’s not writing; that’s typing.” What do you think he’d say abt AI ‘writers’?

“That’s not writing; that’s not even typing; that’s dead, brainless, regurgitated text”?

Capote probably would’ve been pithier.

The pros on the sub have lost the plot.

Those who are against AI continue to make substantive arguments for why the mainstream LLMs and image gen platforms are, on the whole, bad for our society and culture.

A true “pro” would be able to take the opposite position and argue that the mainstream AI platforms have a net positive impact on society. But they don’t (bc they can’t).

Instead, the pro-AI folks on this sub spend all their time whining about how mean “antis” are, playing whataboutism (and almost always from the environmental angle, bc that’s easy) and posting dumb af strawman comics.

So lemme just ask y’all directly: why do you think the mainstream, publicly available tech that’s come to be known as “AI” is a net positive for human society, culture, etc.?
