Future ICON Set

Just some thoughts after sitting and reflecting on the Minas Tirith reveal and past sets.

Some takeaways
-They rarely reuse minifigs between sets and want to prioritize unique fig lineups.
-these are all locations rather than moments so Pelennor Fields seems unlikely
-they do a great job but don’t always go the extra mile (no Anduril for Aragon or normal hair piece)
-most of the icons sets didn’t exist before as other sets

But here are what I think of what people have tossed around as the next set

-Edoras: setting seems kind of blank. Lots of shades of brown and simple structures and the main keep is just a big room mostly… but this seems an easy way to get Theoden, Grima, Eomer, Eowyn, Merry (Rohan), and maybe normal Aragorn. Helms deep is another alternative but that was already a set and then you’d be trading Eowyn and Merry out for like Haldir?

-Lothlorien: despite Rivendell retiring I think the minifig lineup would mostly be a rehash of what Rivendell offers besides Galadriel, Haldir, etc. the rest are the fellowship that seems redundant

-Minas Morgal: not enough screen time and then we’d get ANOTHER set with Frodo, Sam, and Gollum… I want the Witch Queen but for $400+ not enough to justify

-Lonely Mountain: I think this would be a great opportunity to give us a revamped Smaug and all the dwarves plus Bilbo in one set. It is from the Hobbit which I think is a way less popular IP but this is the one I might be most excited for

-smaller sets like Amon Hen, Weathertop, Osgiliath, and Moria would be nice but I don’t think have enough uniqueness in minifigs or display to warrant THE icon set for the year

Lmk what yall think. Just a few thoughts
