Was going through a bin of Legos and found some Hobbit sets, unfortunately when trying to move the legs for Bard and Legolas I broke them off of the pant hinge :[

Since the reveal of Minas Tirith I was working on some siege tower design, this is pretty much my first result.

It's in the same micro/minifig scale as the city and should fit perfectly with the outer walls. I also tried to add some play functions. The bottom half is micro scale, the top fits some minifigures. The front trapdoor comes down automatically by moving a switch and can be wound up again (Studio had some problems with the strings so the render doesn't show them). I build some of it physical too (very colourfull), just to check the door mechanism and overall stability. Should work fine.

Tried to keep the design movie accurate. Aimed for that zig-zag form of the tower. Side on the back those bound together logs, front massive wood with some metal shield coating...

I may rework some minor details over the weekend, if someone has suggestions I'm open for everything. I hope I can get the instructions done before the release date. They'll be free, if the mods have no problem I'll make another post with them once I'm done.

Saw this on FB today. Releases in a few days apparently. I noticed some other people in the comments there pointed out the same thing I was thinking - it looks somewhat similar to Lego's GWP from last year.

I don't really know what to say with this post. Just found it interesting. And it does beg the question: did Lego have Weta workshop's model as reference when designing this (assumably during 2024) or was Weta inspired by Lego design? The similarities in its layout are striking.

No big conspiracy here. Just a fun fact I suppose :)

I think this would be such a nice scale for smaller Lord of the Rings sets. What do you think?

This is my first attempt at a MOC. I’m relatively new to LEGO and enjoy building sets but wanted to try making my own version of Edoras since there isn’t an official one.

Had fun designing myself one that won't break the bank or my shelf!

I had to make Gondorian Boromir, of course.

It went up for pre-order when it was announced, and I wasn’t 100% ready to pull the trigger so waited. The pre-order is now marked as sold out. Does this mean the set won’t be available online June 4th at AG Certified Stores? Has anyone had any prior experience with this?

I reached out to their customer support and was met with a not very confidence inspiring email;

“We understand your concern regarding general availability at launch, but unfortunately we are unable to confirm future stock levels or whether additional units will be available online once it is released.”

Whilst I doubt anyone will know for sure, I’d be curious to know whether anyone has encountered this before with other sets available for pre-order? I would assume the pre-order is just a specific allotment, but you never know. Really want the GWP :(

Obviously there is always the official Lego store, but I have $277 worth of points with AG certified so hoping to get it there.
