Lego 79017 battle of the five armies expansion moc

Hiya guys back again!

Today we’ve got my display expansion for 79017, went with an expansion/integration of the watchtower into a wall on either side with one being captured during its demise! Although the battle field might look a little empty this was done on purpose to allow me to fit lots of figures in and make this a proper battle scene outside the city of dale.

The expansion is roughly 2500 and features room to place the ballista wherever your heart desires.

Lego 79018 lonely mountain expansion

Long time lurker first time poster here!

Sold off my Hobbit collection for university beer money and have been using my recently acquired adult money to repurchase the sets, I’ve found I’m not quite happy with the display-ability of the majority of the sets so plan to make each one a nicer and larger display piece to fit in with the new lotr line.

Starting with the most expensive of the bunch the lonely mountain, I’ve added an additional side to create a horse shoe display using techniques that make it fit well with the original set, I found I wasn’t quite satisfied with this and added a floor I plan to fill with lots of pearl gold 1x1 studs to simulate the gold as well as added the end of a stair case and a broken pillar using more advanced and less ‘2014 Lego’ friendly techniques. Either way I’m very happy with how it came out in studio and look forward to building it in person!
