So my Ridgie girl is turning 12 months old next week and for couple of past weeks shes been acting weird such as she wont come to living room or kitchen and she started to get scared of everything such as one big lamp and our sofa, but im wondering if this is just teenage behavior for the breed and just phase..?

Its my first summer with ridgeback and im wondering does they catch easily ticks, i owned schnauzer before and she catched ticks to her fur sometimes.
