What about the 2005 Mew stylus
I bought this because it was genuinely funny in college, for around $70 USD from yahoo auctions. I didn't realize it was rare and notorious till the auction ended, and then saw the last time it sold on ebay was in 2016 for $300. I now know this is on many people's holy grail lists, and I haven't seen it listed or sold anywhere since. I'm planning to liquidate my pokemon collection in the near future, but I don't know how/where to appraise this or gauge keeping it since it's not TCG. I also have another one that's strange, which I've been unable to find anywhere else online (last picture).
Is this something I can hold out on, till some kind of miraculous specific collector comes along? Does a myth surrounding a piece of merch like this keep growing? Or should I just throw it out on ebay and see what happens?
Team card buy
Only paid 90 dollars for this, with all the team up cards rising. I think I did good
Ascended Heroes ETB Crash?
Sam's Club is getting 400K of these two packs with Ascended Heroes ETB & Pokeball. My question is would you move all of your current Ascended Heroes ETB's you're holding bc stock is so high just at Sam's? Seems like a risk of a large decline like Destined Rivals ETB. Just to put this into perspective Sam's Club had 300K Focus Fighter boxes.
Question about Pokemon collecting/investing
Hi everyone, I am a beginner at collecting Pokemon. I’ve been gathering information via YouTube videos and I stumbled upon a video where the guy mentions if someone wanted to collect and think about the investment side of things, the kind of cards to buy are modern day PSA 10s. Now I can’t remember word for word exactly but that’s the kind of gist I got
The first modern graded card I got was a PSA10 Steelix from Mega evolutions. I am currently looking at an Alakazam from the Mega Evolutions promo set.
However I’m not sure on which cards to buy graded and which cards to buy ungraded.
I have a binder but also not sure what to put in it
Any feedback will be helpful as I am slightly confused, I’m not looking to make a million dollars or a buck overnight. Genuinely like the art work of some but also love the idea of having PSA10 slabs
Just need to distinguish which one I’d have graded and which one I’d keep raw
So any thoughts on this or ideas would be appreciated.

dexerto.comAre PSA 7 unlimited the sweet spot for vintage as a budget collector?
Hey there,
Yugioh Collector here. I've been watching Pokemon from the sidelines for the past couple years, and although I'm not planning to switch, I am at the point where I consider dabbling in Pokemon for a change.
I'm considering building a small collection of the 151 gen 1 from their vintage sets (base, fossil, jungle) in unlimited, mainly for nostalgia and my pc, as a side project if you will.
I first thought about doing them all graded, but that would probably be too big of a mountain to climb, given it's a side project. So the next best thing, and probably more reasonable, would be to acquire at least some of my favorites, or the holos, as graded cards.
After doing some research, I come to the conclusion that the heavy hitters are practically locking me out of anything 1st edition or shadowless, aswell as 9/10 grades, simply because they're way above the budget I would set for myself for this.
So that leads me to my assumption that PSA 7 unlimited, with a new(er) cert might be the sweet spot for me as a collector on a budget.
My train of thought: With newer certs being more strict on vintage, I would be getting pretty clean cards, at a price point that is actually doable for me. I would assume they are not as liquid as higher grades. Buying them should be easy, while selling them might be a bit harder.
My question is, would PSA 7 unlimited vintage at least hold their value in the future, and are they actually somewhat liquid? I'm not planning on selling anytime soon, but I always try to keep in mind the financial reponsibility that comes with spending a lot on collections.
Also in general, would you go for japanese or english prints? My understanding is that japanese prints had better print quality and quality control. Therefore the pops on higher grades should be higher, ergo PSA 7s lose value and liquidity? Is that a correct assessment?
I've also noticed that unlike in YGO, japanese pokemon does not seem to be cheaper than english, at the very least when talking about vintage. I really like japanese cards, but it seems like both for raw aswell as for graded cards, english seems to have an edge in my configuration?
160% of market??
Well this sale doesnt show up on card ladder 👀
30th Celebration Top Chase Cards
Since most of them have been revealed, which ones are your favorites or most excited for? Value wise, what do you think would cost the highest?
My personal fav is the Umbreon EX
Is this Paldea Evolved booster box reaealed?
I'm looking to get this Paldea Evolved booster box from a seller but I can't help notice the loose seal especially on the top of the box. Also the bottom of the box seems to have some letters faded away (4th pic) and the box has some dents.
The seller is selling it for $470USD Firm. The price doesn't seem to be too good to be true but I am still weary
Thankyou
Growing Collection
Before I get yelled at, I did post this about 2 months ago, but doxed myself with a custom card with my name on it lol. Posting again, hopefully this time staying anonymous. Anyway, I finally purchased my FIRST home at the age of 38, and decided like any adult nerd, to dedicate an entire room to Pokemon. (Not shown is full closet of all my vintage 99/00 stuff, and a bunch of extra sealed). Hopefully not too many people upset at all the sealed, I work full time and don’t have time to hit targets and drops, so I usually buy most of my stuff on secondary market. I like Pikachu and not opening things. Enjoy.
Personal Grail Acquired
Largest ptcg investment to date and maybe my favorite card ever. Just don’t see the CoroCoro set going any where but up long term. Gotta catch em all! YOLO
Thoughts on 1st edition neo destiny dark gengar holo?
Was looking at many vintage cards trying to find those that are still at reasonable buy in prices for psa 7-8/raw NM despite the big increases in the past year. Came upon the 1st edition dark gengar holo and it seems to check multiple boxes.
- Very popular Pokemon
- Extremely low printed set, arguably top 3 lowest printed in the WOTC era, along with skyridge and aquapolis. (1st edition neo destiny btw, not unlimited) - leads me to believe this is the english gengar with lowest supply out of all gengars. Total graded pop of the dark gengar across PSA CGC and BGS is only 1149. Meanwhile gengar prime has 1075 graded pop for a psa 8 ALONE, and a 4117 total graded pop across BGS CGC and PSA. Same for gengar ex from fire red leaf green, 4067 total graded pop across BGS CGC and PSA.
Extremely low amount of ebay listings for the 1st edition dark gengar as well.
- Buy in price extremely reasonable, a psa 7 is around 1700, psa 8 around 2000, according to ALT. Basically all vintage big name pokemon cards in psa 7 and above are grails and at grail pricing, out of reach for many collectors buy in wise. Comparison wise gengar prime psa 8 is roughly 2500 according to ALT. gengar ex fire red leaf green roughly 2700 according to alt in an 8.
Very interested to hear yall's thoughts fundamentals seem pretty strong according to my observations.

Destined Rivals Booster Box
Is it worth picking up still or should I wait more for price to go lower? Is 5 years a good hold for this box?
Thank you in advance!
