Question about breakfast service during September restaurant conversions

I'm aware that most branded restaurants will be closing from about September 3rd and most of those are going to be converted into unbranded spaces for Premier Inn breakfast.

I know the end goal will be that the hotels will still have that space for breakfast, however there must be some period of time where refurbishment and rebranding of those restaurants will occur before the end state.

Will the hotels still be serving breakfast the week after the closures of the branded restaurants, or will they be closed for the inevitable refurbishment that has to occur?

Hamilton StandingTickets - Week of August 10th

I'm curious if anyone managed to get standing tickets to Hamilton this week?

I was initially number 40 in the queue, and was through to the booking site in less than a minute, and all of the dates were already listed as 'sold out' by about 11:02.

When I got through the queue a few weeks ago it was showing an empty seating plan for every date that week for about 10 minutes, and then one by one the various dates then started showing 'sold out' after about 5-10 minutes.

It made me feel like on that occasion the empty seating plan was indicating, 'all tickets held in baskets'.

There is no way that everyone made it through the checkout process in less than 2 minutes. It's almost like they didn't put up any standing tickets for the week, so I'm just wondering if anyone was successful.

Pre-Order drink menu?

I'm visiting NYC in October, and a friend bought me a gift certificate to see the show. I've just booked my ticket, but the gift certificate has a balance left on it.

The email that I received confirming my booking let me know the balance left on the gift certificate and said it could be used to pre-order drinks when I get my email 24 hours prior to my ticket date.

I'm just wondering if anyone has a recent copy of the pre-order drink options and the pricing?

Cheers

"Anyone willing to message owner for me" results?

Due to the inability to message a HO if you have an overlapping sit there are often messages on here asking for sitters with availability who may be willing to message the HO and ask if their dates are flexible.

I'm not looking for anyone to do that, but I'm honestly curious does it ever work for people.

I think as a HO I'd find it odd that one sitter is contacting me for another sitter, and would be put off by the idea. However, I'm just wondering what the general reception is when people try to be helpful and do this, and if it has ever led to any successful sits for those who are asking for the help.

Anyone ever share a box seat with a stranger?

I'm going to see Hamilton tomorrow on my own and my ticket is in a grand circle box which has one other seat. Therefore I'll be sharing the box with a complete stranger.

Anyone ever done this before?

I'm completely fine with going to the theatre alone, and will be completely fine in this situation. I'm just curious what other experiences people may have had if they've done similar.

Fun attention to detail. Base 6

I'm re-reading the book this week, and was amused by this attention to detail from when they 'go fishing' at Adrian.

I know earlier in the book that Grace points out that Rocky will give some oddly specific number but in reality it's just Rocky converting from base 6 into base 10.

When they are lowering the xenonite chain, Rocky is giving progress in base 6 by saying spool 6 away, spool 12 away, spool 18 away. Those are 10, 20, 30, in base 6.

Then when lifting the chain, he reminds Grace to increase speed after link 216. Which may seem oddly specific, but really that's just 1000 in base 6.

Just a fun attention to detail that I noticed and liked.

London, UK - any interest in a sitters meet-up?

I posted this a few weeks ago, but realise I posted it on the Saturday of the bank holiday weekend. Reaching out again to see if there may be more people who are interested and didn't see it the first time.

I'm wondering if their might be any interest from other Rover sitters in London to have an informal meet-up at some point. Perhaps just something very loose and informal like a BYO picnic in Hyde Park or similar.

Along with a general meet-up to meet new friends and share stories/tips about pet sitting, I'm also looking to network with other sitters.

I exclusively do housesitting (on and off of Rover), and have been finding more lately that I've had to turn down some repeat requests because I'm sitting somewhere else. Often they will ask me if I have anyone that I'd recommend in my place, but at the moment I don't.

It'd be nice to meet a few people that I could confidently recommend when I'm busy, and in an ideal world, meet people who would return the favour.

Though I only do housesitting, the meet-up would be open to any Rover sitters/walkers/day-carers/boarders.

Miami port - booking back-to-back - Do you need to disembark on turnaround day (when the ship allows for longer bookings)?

There are few parts to my question, but basically the situation is this.

I'm wanting to book the 7 day cruise on MSC on the Seaside departing Miami on November 2nd->9th. Although this 7-day version of the cruise is marketed as being available, currently it only allows for inside and outside cabins, no balcony cabins.

Additionally though, this cruise is sold as a 4 day cruise (November 2nd -> 6th) and a 3 day cruise (November 6th -> 9th).

On the 4 day and 3 day components of the cruise, balconies are available, including the same balconies

So I'm thinking of just booking the two cruises (4-day and 3-day) and booking the same balcony cabin.

I'm wondering are few things if I do that:

- Will we need to disembark on the turnaround day in Miami? I assume the people booked on the 7 day cruise won't need to disembark on that day, but perhaps I'm mistaken.

- I'm MSC Diamond / Black. If I split the booking into the 2 different sailings, will I receive the benefits twice (specifically the thermal spa day pass and speciality meal) ?

- Any other things to worry about by doing this type of booking.

ETA: Comments suggest that even if I booked the 7 day cruise option in an interior cabin, I still have to disembark in Miami, is that really true?
