For as long as I have wanted Der Riese back in BO6/7 Zombies, Totenreich’s ending made me furious it won’t happen
Imagine Victorious Richtofen being confronted with how he squandered the power he bought at Totenreich. Imagine Dravakar taunting him!
From something I wrote in a comment apropos of nothing:
“Your other selves have folded space and time, harnessed thunder, controlled life and death both, destroyed the world or saved all the worlds, and destroyed the eternal cycle made by the gods of a previous multiverse. Sometimes these accomplishments needed the limitless power of divinium, sometimes their own brilliance alone. All of those things and more were within your grasp, Edward.
You… murdered a city for a madman. You needed the divine in crystal form and a deal with devil for such minor power. Power that your American rivals were going to gain with little more than pottery glaze, a centrifuge, and beryllium.
You aren’t the most evil you. You aren’t the most depraved. You haven’t got the highest body count, by three orders of magnitude. You are the most narrow minded, the most arrogant, and the least impressive by far. All of you are equally brilliant. Most of you are odious monsters. You are the only Edward Richtofen that is pathetic.”
And him discovering the teleporter would smash the unstoppable force of his arrogance against the immovable object of his squandered brilliance. It would be a little like humility for him, and I don’t think he would know how to work with that emotion.
