Today when I plugged in my Guitar to play, it made a loud buzzing/hissing sound I have never heard before. For reference I have a Squier Affinity series stratocaster. I got it 6 months ago. I am aware that singecoils don’t handle distortion that well, I use distortion with it and it has never been a problem before. I Get the regular hum singlecoils come with when distorted, but it is not in the way of the tone. But the sound today almost deafened the sound of the Guitar. I have done some resesrch on what the problem can be, I found many sources saying it can have something to do with the ground wiring located at the input Jack. I will attach photos of them for anyone interested. Another thing to add is that I recently removed the backplate, I did it because I think it looks cooler. I am not sure if that caused the noise or not but I thought it would be better to add it than not. I am pretty sure that my amp is not the problem, as i plugged my Fender mustang headphone amp in and it still made the noise in my headphones.
Can anyone tell me what the problem is causing the noise, (I can send or post a video of the sound it is making if anyone is intersted .) what i can do to Get rid of it. I don’t want to spend money on a tech if it is not 100% neccessary, and I am not experienced enough to solder it myself if it is needed. Any help would be greatly appriciated!
